From Singapore to Sweet Success: The Story Behind Memo
Jiemin Aw’s journey with pastries began not in a professional kitchen but alongside her loving aunt in Singapore. This early experience sparked a passion that led her to Auckland’s AUT, where she honed her skills with unwavering support from her mother.
Jiemin’s career has blossomed through inspiring collaborations, prestigious awards, and the incredible honour of representing New Zealand on international stages. A proud member of the New Zealand Chefs Association, she won Bronze and 3rd place at the inaugural World Association of Chefs Society (WACS) Global Pastry Chef competition at the bi-annual World Chefs Congress held in Stavanger, Norway.
Beyond Recognition, a Passion for Sharing
While accolades are impressive, Jiemin’s true passion lies in the joy of connecting with others through food. In fact, she believes that desserts are a universal language of love, capable of evoking cherished memories and strengthening bonds. This belief is the spirit behind Memo – creating classic, simple cakes that speak directly to the heart, embodying both simplicity and quality.
The Heart of Memo
